Opinion wanted regarding lines on crankcase
Hi - I'm in the process of cleaning up my engine at the moment. It is mounted on an engine stand.
While cleaning one side of the crankcase I noticed some lines which look suspiciously like cracks. I have taken a few detailed pictures. There are no oil leaks from this engine - it is very low mileage. I'm hoping the lines are casting marks, but need some reassurance! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Here's what my case looks like. It's an 80SC, also low mileage. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I've got exactly the same line on my case ('89 3.2 Carrera).
My heart sank when I first saw it; I can't tell you how relieved and reassured I was to find this post! ![]()
