standard and optional factory wheels on 91 turbo

Hi,

I have a 91 turbo with 17x7 and 17x9 wheels that look like the wheels for a 996 turbo. I believe they are called twists. I was wondering if these were optional from the factory back in 91 or installed at a later date. I was under the impression that cup 1 wheels were the only available wheels at the time.
I would appreciate feedback with the correct information.

Thank you

Cup 1s were the only wheels I know of on the 964 turbo. Turbo twists first came out on the 993 turbos and the Boxster.

I also doubt that 17" turbo twists were ever available from Porsche

For that year and model only the Cup1 7 & 9 x17 both ET 55 was oe, they did offer Cups 2 in the same size and o/s as an option on some cars in some markets.

In '94 The 3.6T came w. 8ET52 & 10ET61 x18 3 piece wheels made by Speedline

Thanks for the information. My car is in great shape except for the wheels. I am going to get the cup 1 wheels to make it 100% original.
