German Autofest Update in wake of Tuesday's Events...

We at German AutoFest were shocked and greatly saddened by the events of Tuesday, September 11, 2001. Those who have lost family and friends have been in our thoughts and in our prayers, and it has been with heavy hearts that we have worked these last few days.

We all feel a loss, whether or not we knew any of the victims personally, and that loss includes our previously carefree lifestyles. Nonetheless, we have been admonished by our leaders to return to our usual activities as soon as possible and, to this end, we have decided to go forward with this year’s event. We feel that to do otherwise would be to grant the terrorists further satisfaction.

So please join us this weekend at the beach in beautiful Ventura, California at the inaugural German AutoFest.

Saturday, September 15 has been designated as a day of National (and International) mourning. Show your support for the victims and their families and friends.

While I agree with Doug, I also don't think that we should place the country on hold. That would be a terrible victory for the religious fanatics who caused this.

Please help repair this country by joining us on Saturday and Sunday. It will be a good chance to join together in solidarity.
