installing fog lights --73.5 Targa
restoration is coming together...electrical system is done except I want to mount under the bumper vintage fog lamps on my 73.5 restoration... the car is prewired with the white/green fog lamp leads folded up and taped. The bottom fuse holder labeled "fog lamps" does indeed have continuity through these leads according to my multimeter. There is no (+) lead coming into this fuse holder however to power them.
The problem I have is control. How do the normal factory fog lamps function? Rotating the Headlight knob does nothing but dim the instrument lamps according to my electrical diagram. There is no fog lamp switch in my car that I can see. What am i missing? Do I need to install a dedicated fog lamp switch to turn them on/off independently? |

Yes Reid, you need a fog light switch mounted above your radio and you might need the harness that routes from that switch to your relay bank. I know on my 70, that harness was not standard though the harness from the relay bank to the fog light positions was standard.
Never understood the rationale.

ok thanks. Yet another relay add to my growing collection it seems. I already wired in new H4's with Low and Hi relays. Setup works great now that I cleaned up my Turn signal/Dimmer switch. I'm going to have to figure out how to tidy up this growing number of relays and associated thicker gauge wiring near my front fuse panel.
