Chassis strength. help needed
I am about to do a 80SC lite weight for the track and street I want to make sure the chassis is strengthened. I have not seem many articles on the process. Anyone care to suggest a resource or a process?
Im going to put a 300HP motor in the car- and do the suspension of course. If you have gone down this road love to talk to you about it Thanks in advance Ron |

300 h.p. isn't much for these cars. You could do a full cage tied into the A & B pillars, and front & rear shock towers. Gusset the rear shock towers in case you go to coil overs. You may want to make the horizontal braces by the doors removable to make getting into and out of easier when not tracking.

Adding a roll cage is de riguer for a track car along with the usual reinforcements for the front and rear shock towers. Here's more info on chassis reinforcement:

Sherwood, your thread about structural rigidity is an invaluable resource. My car is at a shop having some repairs done and I have been contemplating having a few upgrades completed while they are doing the body repairs. This gives me more info on what I have been thinking about.
