Targa Rear Shelf Question
I installed a Daniel Stern inside-the-car third brake light and upon reassembly I noticed my rear shelf was not flush against the rear window. The gap isn't huge, but it's there and if you're looking for it you can notice it; it's maybe 1/2 inch at most.
I didn't look to see how it was when I started, so it could just be how it was. I imagine, however, that it is/was supposed to be flush. To other tagra owners: is your rear shelf flush with the rear glass? Thanks. Lawrence |

I was just in the rear of the car last night, removing tint (my hands now hurt) and pulled the shelf out to clean. There is a retention device in addition (middle/center of the seat colored portion) to the metal. In order to get this retention device to work, you have to lift the shelf UP to get the "tongue and groove" to match. THEN you put the screws back into the shelf.
It is a little tough to put in black and white (so to speak) but the result is that the shelf lines up very close to flush against the glass. (side note, on my "shelf" there is some padding material under black vinyl that is cut back so that it looks like the material slopes downward as it gets closer to the glass.) In sum, if it is not flush to the glass; it looks to be verrrrry close to flush.

Not much of a gap on mine, even after having removed the sound insulation mat underneath it.
Four screws hold mine on, the center clip was and still is detached from the particle board and not hooked up.
