Anyone familiar with these seats?

Found a guy on eBay that sells remanufactured seats in what he claims to be leather for $1450. Seems like a good price for a complete set of seats that have new foam and upholstery. Anyone seen or felt the quality of the leather? Is the center section perforated (hard to tell in the pictures). Just looking for some feedback from someone that either knows about this guy or has seen his work first hand.

Interesting that going from leather to german vinyl is considered an upgrade.

He has 3795 positive feedback, most of them for seats.

Saw that but when you look at the German vinyl listings they are cheaper....may be a type from a previous or dated ad...but definitely raises a question for me also.

I saw that also....mainly bmw seats or leather upholstery kits, couldn't find any feedback for the $1400 911 leather remanufactured seats.

Those look nice but $1450?

I don't know... I may be wrong but I think you could do better.

My favorite seats are Recaro LS-B's but apparently they go for stupid money these days.

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy car parts which is kind of the same thing.

$1450 is a steal by my research...most places want $1200-1400 just for the upholstery kit (leather) which you then have to repair/replace the foam yourself and install the new upholstery which is no walk in the park. You can get vinyl kits for $400-$850 but 1450 for the entire seats with real leather is really cheap and that's why I'm questioning it. Maybe I'm not seeing something right.

Would ask seller to send "leather" sample. Chances are it's Pleather.

Grant was just telling me about the upholstery kit from Lakewell. He just ordered a carpet set from them and it it beautiful.

Here's a link -- looks like there is a "comfort" and "sport" seat option. This company is in Belgium but the exchange rate is very favorable right now.

Look at this and then talk to Charles at Marietta Auto Trim.

Thanks for the link Tim. Buy googles calculations the leather seat kit is $977. Plus about $140 for foam inserts. I have an aircraft upholstery friend that will help me recover the seats for free or will do it himself for $200 a seat.....just doesn't seem like I'm saving much in the end. I've used Marietta auto trim before and wasn't happy at all....they left glue stains and smudges in several spots on by brand new headliner and cracked just about every piece of plastic trim associated with headliner removal in my old Audi. I just bought these seats here locally....they are kinda cool. Not sure if I'm gonna use them or not yet but for the price and their uniqueness I figured I'd snag them and see what kind of ideas I get for my interior. If you look close they have a porsche script pattern on them....kinda cool reminds me of some other luxury brands like Louis Vuitton or something haha. Thanks for the tip on lakewell...looks like a good resource for sure.
