help ID these struts
the neighbor was cleaning out his garage & stumbled across these. he couldn't remember what they came from but thought they might be 912 (912E maybe ?)
3" Bilstein struts look right, but don't have 911 part numbers & the lower arm is straight VS. the later (?) 3.5" Koni units. further, they have 4-bolt unvented rotors & VW calipers. an interested party wants something to put under his car so it can be rolled around the shop. I don't want to misrepresent them. any help appreciated. thanks! jerry ![]() ![]() ![]()

Yes 914, late wedge pin.
Here's a link to some early pinch bolt ones. Same straight steering arm. 914World.com - The fastest growing online 914 community! Cheers, dug

If the Bilstein struts have 4 bolt rotors, they're 914. They have a wedge pin at the base, so they're late (post-mid '72). They require late LWB ball joints. They CANNOT be converted for use with 911/912 5 bolt rotors and calipers. The Koni struts look like wedge pin style, meaning they also use the later LWB ball joints, but it's difficult to be sure, given the poor viewing angle given in the photos.
