Fresh rebuild now questions

1985 3.2 First start up today after some minor difficulties. As soon as I connected the negative terminal at the battery the battery light on the speedo lights up with the key off. Does this indicate an alternator or a wiring issue? Also I have a mystery lead on the engine harness. It is a two wire lead that ends in a simple round pin plug. It exits the harness at the left rear next to the the large multi pin plug. The wires are brown and yellow with a black tracer. Any ideas?

Post a picture, it sounds like the blower motor connector. Don't know why it would exit near the 14 pin connector though...

Ding ding ding! We have a winner. I removed the blower motor months ago while adding a turbo, completely forgot about it. Now does anyone have some insight as to battery light being on with the key in the off position ?
