Porsche 911 Redbook, are they on drugs?

I bought mine back in 2001 and paid $9.99. went to Amazon to see if they still had it so I could tell a person asking questions on this board to buy one and I see it is now $63.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!

People thinking they are worth more than they are. Here you go: Porsche 911 red book, 1965-2005 | Lake Forest Book Store

Ahh, yes. You are correct. I'm glad I got mine when it was 10 bucks.

I just looked for myself thinking that you guys surely had the wrong book on the Amazon site. Absolute insanity! I had better go dig my copy out and put it in the safe

While the Redbook is nice, it is not meant to be used for quick references. It does have great historical data. But it ain't worth 60 freaking bucks.

I like a chart that has ALL the engine, trans and vin information on one chart.

That's why I prefer Wayne and Anderson's books.

Just curious, what does the Red Book offer over Wayne's and Bruce's books?

Looks as if the Redbook on Amazon is a deal. Others have it at over a 100 and one for 200.

Is it out of print?

Hermetically sealed.

Are there various editions of the Redbook? I bought mine as well about ten years ago.

Wonder if Anderson's 1st edition book is appreciating? I can't find one for sale.

I don't think mine is a 1st edition as it is labeled $12.95. It doesn't say WHAT edition it is, only that it was first published in 2000.

This is, unfortunately, quite normal in the book business after something goes out of print and there are no more copies.

Supply & demand drive the market as told to me by a bookseller doing same for 40+ years.

I have one $40 book by Starkey, "R-to-RSR" thats off the scale now and its sad, because its THE definitive work on these race cars.
