PN of hardware to attach rear brake light housing to car?

I have looked through the PET and can't find the PN for attaching screws and rubber washers to attach the rear brake light housing to the car. The screws are simple cheese head metric screws but I would like to use the correct rubber sealing washer. Anyone know what the heck Porsche used here?
thanks
David

Not the small screws that attach the lens to the light housing, the 2 screws per housing that attach it to the car body. There is also a rubber sealing washer in there. None of this hardware is shown in PET.

PET shows item 36 999 507 312 12 Nut lock 5mm, this nut is retained in the body. The screws and washers not shown attached through the taillight into these captive nuts. I have matched the old screw with new 5mm screws but would like to know the part number of the rubber sealing washer.

When I did mine, I got the M5 screws from McMaster Carr. I don't recall what I had for washers but I just reused what I had if memory serves. McMaster also has plastic and rubber washers, so check out their website to see if they have what you're looking for

I also got new speed nuts that have the bronze threaded insert to replace my corroded pieces. Got those at the P-car dealer.

I know the original assembly is a machine screw and clip-in blind nut. But this combination has been known to rust in place and then you often have to drill out the screw. My fried Mark (RIP) encountered this and came up with a nice alternative solution.

He found that a typical plastic anchor/insert (like those used for mounting license plates) snaps into the square hole. Then you can use a stainless coarse thread screw to mount the light box. No more problem with future rusting and seizing.

Nice solution, my nuts rusted due to lack of use. I will look for that plastic insert next time I am at the parts store.

So I figured I'd try to remove the 2 screws that hold the light assembly into the body - had to take lense off to replace a bulb. One Phillips is so boogered up, can't get a screw driver on it - other just spins - assume I will need to drill these out?

Passenger side 1987 - thought I'd replace the gaskets quick and easy - but looks like it will be anything but.... Didn't feel like diving into the drivers side.

Thanks

Yep I would drill them out. Just need to get in behind the light housing with something to grab the clip nut.

When you get them out, i'd use the plastic push-in anchors and self-tapping screws. I think the screw size is 4.2mm. But the size of the screw isn't what really matters because you can use a typical domestic size screw (probably a #8 or a #10). It's the size of the square that clips into the hole that matters because you obviously want the anchor to match the size of the opening in the car body.

To each his own. Just sharing my experience with a quick and easy solution that I feel is better than the original hardware chosen by Porsche. I’ve had to drill out the rusted screws in several light housings and it’s a pain in the butt

The original stuff is indeed original. That’s great. But it also failed in its mission to make the light assembly serviceable. Whereas the crude self tapping screw and plastic anchor combo (a combo similar to the successful manner in which some car makes attach license plates) will never rust in place and require no drilling to remove the light housing.

Back in the early 90s when I was a porter at a car dealership, I struggled with removing rusty license plate screws on cars that had metal anchors in the body. I remember the “oh yeah” feeling when I’d get a car with plastic anchored plates. So maybe that’s also where my bias comes from.
