replace injectors- now takes a long time to turnover

Hi all, I replace the injectors on my 1983 sc and now it takes a long time for the engine to start, plenty of cranking power it just seems that it is starving for fuel, once it starts it runs good, any ideas? Thanks

Did you replace the 12 seals and the insulators?

Orange sleeves are the insulators. I think they have the o-ring type seals already on them on the outside diameter

Suspect you are sucking air.

Did you re-set the insulators into the runner with some form of spike tool? Along the lip of the runner you need to whack it with a drift to push the metal into the bore a bit to not allow retraction of the insulator.

You have metal lines. Were they really happy to go into the insulator or were they bent a little and they resisted? Need to bend them a bit so tension is released.

Each of the six sleeves is sealed to the intake runner with an o-ring on it's outside. Each injector has another o-ring that seals it to the sleeve. Thus, you have 12 o-rings.

Another idea: are you sure you're running lean? It might be that the injectors/sleeves have been drawing false air before and that a PO might have compensated for that by adjusting the idle mixture. Now that you have replaced the sleeves and o-rings, the engine might idle rich since the false air is missing. Just a thought.
