'74 Seat Belts - are the shorter?

I can't fasten my belts in my '74. Neither can my wife... but that is a whole different issue

The belts in my '87 fit me just fine (and the Germ).

Since I know my legs don't shrink from one car to the other, does anyone know if the belts are different in the two cars? Any ideas on best way to fix this problem?

Michael

The belts in my new-to-me 1974 911s were ridiculously short and I had to move the seat forward to fit. Then I realized the previous owner had mounted the floor anchor bolts to the location for the rear seat belts. Took me five minutes to fix the problem.

OK. Seems clear that I have trespassed on hallowed ground hear, but I don't get the joke. I've searched the subject matter and don't find anything of use. This is a real problem that makes this car unsafe and undriveable. If anyone in the community has experience with this, it would be much appreciated.
