Road trip! S. Ont to Tulsa and back in 4 days!
Ok, we're going to do it! The car got a clean bill of health (well, clean enough) from the local shop, so my wife and I are going to do the road trip. Hamilton, Ontario (just west of Toronto) to Tulsa, OK and back in 4 days.
I don't anticipate any problems but I'd love any recommendations for shops along the way, or Pelicans who don't mind sharing their garages and tools, should anything go wrong. With our timeline, I wouldn't have time to fix anything major - if that should happen, we'd be looking at a tow back home. We'll be passing through Detroit, Toledo, Ft. Wayne, Indianapolis, St. Louis and Springfield. Our goal is St. Louis the first night (July 17), Tulsa the 18th, then probably Ft. Wayne on the 19th, then home around dinner time on the 20th.

Just 2400 miles. You'll be fine. Have fun.

Don't miss the local Porsche guys at their Saturday breakfast...not to be missed and you would have most likely seen some really nice cars. It was on one of those breakfasts that I saw my first, and ONLY, real '73 RS models.

The breakfast is at 8:00 every Saturday morning, at the Wild Fork restauarant, if you want to show up.
The Barber Museum is in Alabama, which isn't between Ontario and Tulsa. It's a good 400 miles out of your way. Hallet is west of Tulsa, which also puts it out of your way and there is nothing scheduled for the coming weekend anyway. Ontario to Tulsa is sort of a random trip. Is there a reason for it? JR |

There's a dance company that's done some choreography to some of my music. The first of 3 performances is on Saturday evening. My wife and I have been talking about doing a road trip in the 911 for a few years now. So it just made sense! I'd like to have a bit more time and see some other places along the way, but that's all we have time for.
I think we might check out the Sat. am meet, if my better half doesn't mind ![]()

Tell your wife she is welcome at breakfast. The restaurant is owned and staffed by women and has decent food. It's not a greasy diner. Plus, it's located in an outdoor mall in the rich part of town and has the highest end shopping to be found in Tulsa.

Well, we made it, with absolutely no problems! 4142 km round trip - about 2600 miles. The only issue we had was the car not wanting to hold an idle at stop lights yesterday. The rpms kept dropping and I had to keep the engine alive with my foot. Maybe some dirt in one of the idle jets.
We got very lucky - cool temperatures the whole way, and not a single traffic jam, unbelievably!
