G-50 Rebuild
DEAR PELICAN HEADS, I PLAN ON PULLING THE ENGINE AND TRANS THIS WINTER TO FIX MINOR COSMETIC ISSUES AND NIGLING OIL LEAKS THAT ARE EASIER DONE WITH THE ENGINE OUT. MY CLUTCH IS A CONCERN TO ME AS I DON'T KNOW IF IT HAS HAD THE BEARING UPDATE DONE AND I SOMETIME HAVE CONCERNS THAT THE 1-2 SYNCRO MIGHT BE A LITTLE TOO WORN. CAN ANYONE RECOMMEND A ULTRA RELIABLE SHOP TO PERFORM THIS MINOR FRESHEN UP TO THE TRANS AND PERHAPS ONE OF THE MEMBERS WOULD ALSO SUGGEST WHERE I COULD SEND THE HEADS TO HAVE THE GUIDES AND VALVES DONE RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. JOHN WALKER YOU ARE SO FAR THE ONLY PERSON THAT OWNS A SHOP THAT HAS IMPRESSED ME, SO IF YOU WOULDN'T MIND PLEASE POST A ROUGH ESTIMATE FOR HEAED OFF VALVE JOB AND G-50 BEARING, SEALS AND SYNCROS WITH THE NECCESARY MACHINE WORK TO THE TRANS CASE TO PERFORM THE PORSCE RECOMMENDED UPDATE. JOHN YOU HAVE ANSWERED ALOT OF MY QUESTIONS IN THE TWO YEARS THAT I HAVE OWNED THE CAR EVEN THOUGH YOU PROBUBLY DON,T EVEN RECALL WHAT CAR I HAVE. ITS AN 87 3.2 CABRIOLET
SLANT NOSE TURBO LOOK THAT HAS 81,500 MILES CURRENTLY.
