Help with mounting 87 front valance

So I've just pulled all the fibreglass bumpers off of my car and am in the process of fitting the factory ones back to it. Everything was pulled from a 74. Problem is the front right hand side bracket is no where near it needs to be and the front air con condenser is in the way of the front spoiler lip. Obviously I could make a bracket and remove the bar that protects the aircon but was hoping someone could show me what it's MEANT to be like.

They moved the front right bracket on the later cars, as you have found out. Replacement valances from Porsche come with brackets for both versions.

I have no idea on the spoiler lip.

Give yourself some clearance to work with then determine the center and work your way out on the install.

Vince, here are images from an '80.

I removed bumper and valance for painting and it was easy. Not so in regards to putting valance back on. While I'll not report the fit issues you mentioned... I can say it was as if the valance was not from my car (but I know it was due to marks on it.) To get an even line between top of valance and bottom of the bumper took some force using a variety of plastic body working shim tools.

If these images don't help, you might do better posting this query in the body work arena.

Thanks for the help guys. As ive already painted my valance ill just have to make an adapter-bracket instead of repositioning it.

And ill sort of the clearance with the lower protection bar thingy when my accordions, new front spoiler (I think mine is stretched and bent) and bumper extensions turn up from paint to align properly

On my car, I have to remove the protection bar to R&R the spoiler. After I get the spoiler in place, the bar can be re-installed w/o interfering with the spoiler.
