Interior trim question

Hello I was trying to source the exact screws and washers that hold the rear parcel shelf, and other misc interior trim pieces. They are black and the head of the screw fits into the washer. Thanks.

I think this set should cover it. I cant remember if the parcel shelf hardware was any bigger than the rest since it might be the heaviest interior piece. http://928classics.com/restoration-hardware.html

Hi Neal, From previous posts looks like you sold your SC and then were looking to buy a 993. What car are you working on? Don't know if it matters but may help.

Bob- Its for a rear parcel shelf on a 993. I have another SC and I suppose I should just compare and contrast with that one and see if it is the same hardware. The kit that the other person posted above would be grest but I literally need 6 or so black interior trim screws and washers.. Thanks.

I have a screw assortment similar to the 928classics kit. It is extremely useful to have a screw just a little bit longer or bigger than the one you have removed. The kit has saved me countless trips to the hardware store. It is not a cheap convenience, but it is incredibly handy. Good luck, Dave

Dave, agreed. Now that I think of it, both door packets on my SC are not screwed onto the metal door any longer and the passenger side drags when using the door. I bet some of those are in the kit as well... Thanks. NealF '82 SC Targa '97 993 Coupe

I just did my door pockets in new carpet. I found a hodge-podge of screws, including a drywall screw when I removed them. I recommend pulling the pocket, then finding a screw that fits in each hole. They may be different in size and length. (Not from the factory, but from previous repairs.) Then keep them in order and reinstall the pocket with relative ease. This works on other panels too. Good luck, Dave

May not be a bad idea to snag this. SC door pocket screws look like the bottom row screw, one in from the left. If I remember they are more of a machine screw thread rather than a sheet metal screw thread.
