Can one help me with this noise *VIDEO*
I've been hearing this noise for the last few years in my 911sc 1981 model, I replaced the shocks about a year ago hoping it would go away, but it didn't. I only really hear it at slow speeds like driving around a parking lot. More of a *knock* or sounds like something needs grease. I tried spraying WD40 on everything that looked like a joint under there, but didn't help. There are no grease fittings right? I didn't see any at least.

I am no expert on suspensions, but I would say it sounds like the muffled clunking sound comes from either the front torsion bar or the shocks. How about using a stethoscope in those places with somebody else moving the front up and down? Or disconnect the shocks at the bottom, repeat the maneuvers and find out whether the shocks or the suspension alone is involved.

I had a similar sound on my '81 SC, turned to be binding of the through-body roll bar bushings. I wound up greasing the bushings, then very carefully adjusting the drop links to obtain even lengths to avoid binding.

From the video it doens´t seem like you need to put much pressure on the fender to replicate the sound. It sound like whatever is causing it is being amplified through the metal fender. I´d probably check the areas where the fender contacts with the rest of the car. If one of the bolts for fixing the fender is slightly loose it might cause a popping noise under slight pressure which then amplifies itself through the fender. Its sound like the noise old metal oil cans make when you press on the sides.
