muffler ? for my 2.7 turbo

I just bouht these headers for my 2.7 turbo that we've discussed before. I am going to fabricate the cross over pipe and install it this winter. Now for the question.

What is a good muffler (one in one out) that will give me more HP but not be terribly loud. Some what loud on accelaration will not bother me. I don't know what the types of muffler's that have been discussed on this forum will do to the turbo.

side note: anyone that wanted the turbo instructions email me at plastex3@aol.com and I will send them to you via mail.

I have a one in one out factory muffler off a '75 911 for $50.
If you are interested.

Why do you need a crossover? These exit to the rear so you should be looking for a two in and one or two out muffler.

Crossover is needed to mount the turbo. I presume it will be in the middle.
If the turbo is on the left side like the 930 you can use any kind of conventional one in/out muffler such as a glasspack. Middle mount just makes for a shorter muffler.

It is on the left side like the 930. But what mufflers will give me the most HP with my set up(turbo).

Generally speaking, the most free flowing muffler that won't give you a headache.

I'd try a flowmaster or something similar. They make many configurations. I've got one that I'm working on for my 930 that is a side by side flow - 2 in / 2 out. I plan to weld shut the in/out on the passengers side so that the exhaust enters at the top of the drivers side, makes a 180* turn at the passengers (welded up) side, and comes back to exit at the bottom of the drivers side. Just like the stock muffler only much more free flowing, and hopefully, not too loud.

While trying to install the headers tonight I stumbled into what could be a problem. It seems that on the passenger side the headers are awful close to the oil lines coming from the oil tank. Any suggestions? am I missing some type of heat shields?
