Passenger side power window motor repair

My passenger side power window is finally kaput. Pulled it apart and separated the gear assembly from the motor base and can occasionally make it work if you wiggle the motor shaft just right. The shaft can move around a whole bunch so it's obviously worn inside and making intermittent contact as this happens. It's not just gunked up and siezed from crud over the years.

So....
1). Does anyone know if these can rebuilt? New ones from our host are $$$ and I'm a little leery of buying a "good used one" that is just as old as what I got now.

2). It's a Bosch motor so I'm sure other cars use the same one. Any ideas on a cross reference? (Mercedes perhaps?)

3). Anyone in Atlanta got a spare one they want to unload?

I looked into this recently and learned that if you take it to Autozone or similar auto parts store they will send it to Cardone for a rebuild.

When I got mine on the bench it suddenly began working so I never had it rebuilt.

I may have struck gold.... went to the local pull-a-part junkyard and found a motor from Volvo and Benz that should work perfectly. Got to swap out the electrical connector but looking good so far!

Post up what you used as a replacement and what changes are needed once you are sure it works so others can do the same.
I have manual windows, so this isn't for me.

All fixed and worked perfectly!!!!

So basically I went to the local Pull-A-Part and found a late 80's vintage Volvo 240 and Mercedes 420E. Pulled the motors off the front passenger side doors and sure enough the Bosch motor and shaft is the same. The stamped part numbers were different but I'm sure that's because of the different sprocket drives. All I did was undo the two starhead bolts, pull off the sprocket assembly and swap it with the one from my 911 on it. The newer motors had the same exact power plug terminal spades except both of these had the wire leads soldered on. A simple dremel cut and off they went and the Porsche plug fits perfect.

Overall I'm so stoked I fixed it so easily.

New replacement motor from our host = $316.25
(2) junkyard pulled motors in great shape = $41.00 (total)
70 miles of driving and the obligatory German beer as a celebration = priceless
