1970 911T Shocks

The front Boge shocks in my 1970 911T are in need of repacement. I'm using the car for street use only, is there any noticable advantage in switching to Bilstein shocks as an alternative? Any thoughts on the rear shocks as well, while I'm at it?

Thanks!

You should do all 4 at the same time. Buy the package with all 4. That way the shocks will work together as a unit. Also, stick to the basic shocks. Either Koni or Bilstein. You have no need for the adjustables.

Here's an article I wrote last year about shocks.

General opinion is the Billy's have a firm ride not just for P cars but others, and if your car is lowered its worse....could be wrong.

Bilstein HD's front and rear on my 70. Street use. Stock ride height. Very good ride/handling.

I had front Koni`s and rear Bilsteins when my 73 911T was purchased. Besides the fact that the Bilsteins were different diameters and lengths the ride was quite firm. (The image explains the differences)

The car was lowered ...... so to have an even balance I changed the rear to Koni Red Classics similar to the fronts.
On take offs and at slow speeds the difference is noticeable (less rear squatting and firmer) but over 70km/hr the car just glides and the handling much improved.

The Sachs/Boge will be good for a street only car. Buy all four as suggested, you will also save about $250 over Bilsteins.
