Question Does anybody else do this??

I can always depend on the weekly chore of taking the garbage bins out to the street for early morning collection. I'm sure we all do it. But, does it become a 20 minute exercise, where you end up standing around in your driveway adoring your 911 at 11:30pm?

I know it needs a clean, but...

Am I nuts or am I normal??

Totally normal obsessive compulsive behavior, I know the feeling. Fortunetly a positive disorder.

This weekend I found myself sitting on the milk crate just staring at the car.
Many ideas were running around in my brain.
This is a very expensive hobby, and if you sit and stare at the "baby", you can bust the bank all too easily.
Now I'm thinking about gutting the electrics and re-wiring the whole car!
Too much time to think....work on the car....work on the car.

Every time I step into my garage I see a '73 coupe with carerra flares and 17"Fikses. Be leaving the 3.2 sitting on the floor behind it, I get to look at that, too. Maybe I'll put it back together someday. In the meantime, boy do I love my garage.

One night I went out and was just sitting in my car, just savoring the moment, adoring the lines and playing with the switches. My neighbour is an ex Security Intelligence Service (Goverment spies) and spotted me thinking I was a car thief, then realised it was me. When he talked to me about it the next day he thought it was very odd sitting in my car in the middle of the night, but if you arn't a 911 person I guess you wouldn't know...

When I play tennis, I park so I can look at my car during points. Is that nuts or what?

Life is short. A little Porsche beauty helps.

Everytime I take the trash out or just leave in the morning to go to work in my Montero, I walk by my baby and for some reason I can't stop staring at it...and "caressing" it..meaning I will gently go over the beautiful curves and my rear Turbo flares. I am sick aren't I? But it's not my fault..it's the most beautiful a$$ ever created!!

I use to hate taking the trash out until about a month ago ! You see, I had a racoon ransack my garbage pail one night which forced me to relocate the pial. Its now shares the 2 car garage with the 930. I love taking out the trash........

Adam,

As John, Mike, and I were furiously scratching our heads after the rebuilt MFI pump failed to stop the misfiring at 4,500-5,000rpm, I still wanted to take a photo of my car.

We're helpless.

Sean,

Nope, it didn't fix it! John is going to drain the fuel tank today (he thinks that Optimax, combined with the Valvemaster lead additive, could be the cause). Tomorrow, an electrician is going to come in and re-wire the ignition system. Keep your fingers crossed!

It was a hard call to make to have the pump rebuilt as worn pumps can cause this, and the replacement pump he had wasn't exactly fresh. We had to rule it out, I guess. So far it's been an expensive game of deduction, but John hasn't been charging me for his time, thank god!

Wow, I'm glad to know that I am "normal" (can you call it that?), I was beginning to wonder myself! Now I just need to get my wife to read this thread....

Adam, every chance I get to pop outside, I take it (even if it's just to throw some garbage out).

When I have to pop down to the "local" video store (2km's away), I usually take the LONG, 20km route

Whenever we go out to dinner, I HAVE to park it somewhere where I can see/stare at it ALL night! My wife gets pretty p!ssed sometimes cause she'd be talking to me and I'd be in a trans-like state, admiring every curve of the 911 She understands my infatuation tho (as long as I'm not staring at another woman)

Damn Matt, hope they sort out that misfire soon!

Nope, it's not crazy at all.. i am sure we all do it in one way or another. I did it just today .. I got a call on the mobile, while i was parking in the lot at Ace Hardware, and got out walked about 30ft aways and sat on the Cart rack and talked while staring at the car.. i don't remeber who called or much else about the conversation really it all comes back to me sounding like (charlie browns School teacher).. remeber the "WAH_WAH_WAH sound his teacher made I DO remember that the car looked great as the sun was setting behind it.

I find myself looking over my shoulder everytime I park it as I walk away. Never anything better to look at! Someday I will probably trip and fall when doing that...but I know where I will look first when I get back up!
