3.6 Varioram Got to have O2 sensors

After talking with Steve at Rennsport I have found out that the 3.6 Variorams be they OBDI or OBDII need at LEAST two of the four original O2 sensors. Mine had none installed. This explains some of the poor running conditions. Now I get to drill through jet hot coated headers or get some modified 993 exchangers. (probably go with the modified 993 exchangers)

O2 sensors on OBD-I VRams

Interesting, sinc ethe PET has exactly one ozegen sensor shown for european VarioRAM and there is only one connector on the European harness, just like a 1995 model.

It plugs into the center of the muffler.

Over and out.

Even more interesting is the fact that a Factory Certified Porsche Technician told me that my oil dripping POS varioram engine MUST HAVE at least two oxygen sensors to run properly. But my engine came with NO O2 sensors.

How many O2 sensors did the 1996 Vram ROW engines have?

Because THAT is the engine I have, serial #: 63TO5378
from an 1996 ROW carrera.

Thanks for the incredibly informative reply, rush back to the clinic.

sensor

a Euro 993 varioram Engine has only 1 Lamda Sensor and is
OBD 1 , and if a Porsche mechanic tells you different ask him if he has seen another Euro varioram Engine before.

Greetings from Germany : Harald
