Looking into replacing my headliner, which leads to scope creep.

The scope creep being what should I think about doing to my sunroof? The exterior weather stripping isn't the greatest, so I'm thinking about that. Is there anything else in the sunroof mechanism I should consider replacing while I'm in there? Mechanically, the sunroof seems perfectly sounds, but it's also 28 years old.

There's the whole issue of converting over to 964 sunroof rails.
I forget which parts of the original sunroof they don't make anymore (cables or rails).
Something to be avoided if everything is working though.

Also think about what you want to do about the sound material inside the headliner. It may have seen better days.
