Emergency brake out out/off?

So I did a dumb move yesterday. I was out at the store, got back into my car and drove a few blocks before realizing I had forgot something so I returned and set my Ebrake quickly to run back in the store. I must have set it only partially so when I got back in the car and took off, I could not really feel any drag on the car. I then jumper on the highway and after 10 or so miles, I started feeling a vibration in the wheels. Figuring it was a rock or something caught in the wheel or tire I continued on for another 10 miles. At that point, I felt the brake release and the vibration went away. I looked down to see that the brake handle was still partially lifted up. When I got back home, I tried setting the brake and noticed it would no longer hold. I touched the rear wheels and felt that they were both fairly warm. I have not pulled the wheels yet but I am hoping I just have to readjust the cable. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. Joe

I would pull the brake rotors and have a look . My guess is one of the retaining clips came off or the shoe came off the backing and is pooched. i doubt you just need an adjustment. may be a good opportinity to do a complete rear brake service. i was surprised at how expensive a set of ebrake shoes are for our cars considering what they are . I will probably just have mine relined locally when the time comes.

Thanks.... I probably should have pulled out Wayne's book and checked there first. I will have to get it up on jacks and check things out. I just updated the trailing arms last year so I know the eshoes were new then. Hopefully it is just a clip.

Hi Joe I did the exact same thing so I removed rear wheels and adjusted as per the manual and all is good again. Thanks Mike
