Hahttp://ezcarlift.com/index.html

Has anybody had any experience with this product. It is called EZCarlift It is a little pricey but it has some great features.

I have been looking at lifts for about a year. I have the room, but don't want to give up the complete openness of my garage, so have been thinking about a scissors style mid-rise lift. Not as portable because of its weight, but if I park a car over it, it is out of the way and could be move with rollers. They are similar in price or less than this one and offer more height and greater weight holding. Also, the single post lifts or the MAXXJAXX is a nice alternative. The MaxxJaxx is very portable.

It's light and compact but only raise by 26".

For the same price you can get a North American (only the steel is from China) scissor lift that does 52".

The MaxJax is the most portable and easy to store home lift I have looked at so far.

lift

I think the value of the ezlift is that it is so portable. I have a call into them to see if it could be made to go any higher

As a minimum you want an achievable height that will allow you to drop the engine.
26" is not enough and the Ranger Quick Jack max height with the rubber blocks is 20"

JJ 911SC,

Which scissor lift would this be?

I know the Bendpak is popular, but they are 100% made in China now.

Thanks,
DT

Looks like the Nussbaum mid rise lift is going to run over $4k when you throw in shipping. Seems like the BendPak or Rotary scissor lifts are a better deal.

I have a EZ lift. Love it. I use it all the time for car maintenance, tire rotation etc.. Well made and rock solid. Worth every penny.

Wife made me buy a lift if I was going to keep working on our cars, Something about she wanted me around now that we made it this dear. Etc...

I will order a PednPak MD6XP real soon, maybe tomorrow.

Summit racing is selling them for $1915 and free shipping.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/bpi-5175730/overview/

I will likely put mine in a small pit to make it easier to park over. It is portable if it in not in a pit.

Good luck.

I bought one back in Sept, MD-6XP. Fit and finish is not very good. Maybe mine is a Monday morning one or something, but it doesn't seem as well built as some of the older ones I've seen.

The BendPak customer service doesn't seem to care either. They say its ok. Easy for them to say since they won't be working under it.

I can elaborate more via email if you prefer. Bottom line is that I would not buy another.

DT

I bought a scissor lift from Harbor Freight a few years ago. It's 220 V and looks identical to the MD6XP pictured above. I believe I paid less than $900.00.
BE AWARE although the scissor lifts are great, you will have a clearance problem with a 911. My friend with a 993 also bought one and we both had to make ramps from 2x4s and 1x12s to drive on to clear over the lift. So unless you are recessing it into the floor you will need ramps.

I am about to pull the trigger on a Rotary Revolution scissor lift. However, I have not been able to find anybody that actually owns one. We have a local Rotary dealer that carries them and keeps them in stock.

Interesting to hear about your issues with the BendPak, seems like one of the more popular lifts.

Automotive Scissor Lift

Mine leaks a little, my friend's does not! The power unit is a little top heavy to roll around, other than that, and building the ramps, no problems in 5 years. Hope this helps you.

Here's something. Three of the arms lay flat against the lift. One (pictured) does not. The lift is not level at this point. It may not be a big deal, but my thought was the arm should be fully supported by the lift and not just the outside edge. Some of you civil or structural engineers might know better!
