So I installed the MSD ignition and it wont start. Cranks fine, sounds like no spark (Imagine that). So the question stands, will a turbo start without the intercooler and various hoses hooked up? Just thought I would start with the easy stuff first. Off to the web site now, and look up "troubleshooting". Thanks.

I had to do that once on our 1987 930 and it will start, but don't run it long. A turbo starts without boost but uses the air flow through the sensor to give fuel by making the pumps run. You could pull the connector so the fuel pumps run as soon as the key is on. I'd recommend plugging all the rubber hoses before starting as I remember I got a large shot of oil from one of them. Sorry I don't remember which one though. Also I'd have some one inside ready to kill the engine quickly too. God luck.

Hello
We used a temporary testpipe made from plastic however Porsche has a aluminium one under the special tools. Also make a interfaceconnector with a start/kill switch to hook up in the rear board. You also can use standard CIS remote startes ( Bosch for example arond 30$ in germany ) Grüsse |
