Help me fix the S

I have a 993 Carrera S. The S lettering cracked. How do I remove the remaining S and replace it? Seems like the risk for damaging paint is high...

If it's adhesive attached, you can saw it off with dental floss.
Good luck

Not sure how they are attached, most nameplate/emblems are 2 side taped on. If that is the case and you are talking about removing the adhesive go to any automotive paint store and ask them for a stripe removal disk. It's a small wheel that is made of a material similar to a pencil eraser, it can be attached to a drill and will remove stripes, 2 side tape etc..... It will not damage the paint unless you have an old car with no clear coat or a cheap paint job.

Park car in sun to soften up adhesive. Mask area around the letters you want to remove. Take dental floss and working it back and forth in a sawing motion you should be able to remove the letter. Then use an adhesive remover, alcohol or gasoline works for me, to clean up the area.

I've also used fishing line instead of the dental floss trick, but - same idea: warmth, sunlight, sawing motion...

Clean up the remaining adhesive with goof-off: it has worked well for me...
