High oil pressure at idle
I've installed my 3.0L engine and started it for the first time in 2 years. Seems oil pressure is running high at idle. When first started its at 4 bar. After a couple minutes it lowers to about 2.5 to 3. If I give it a little gas it rises as normal. I don't think it ran at high pressure before I put the engine in storage but I could be wrong - 2 years is a long time. I did replace the oil pressure sender just as preventive maintenance. I believe I purchased the correct sender (VDO 911-606-111-03-M82 0-5 bars). Before I start the car with the key on the gauge is at 0 and if I pull the wire off it pegs to 5. Running 20w50 dino-oil.
Should I run the engine more after being in storage and drained of oil for so long? Should I install new pressure relief valves? Or something else to check? Or am I overacting to cold pressure?

Sounds about the same as mine when cold with 20-50 in it.
When the engine is fully warmed up it will drop down to about 1 bar at idle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
