911 SC interiors color and fabric?

Hi
I own a 1983 european 911 sc, green moss metallic "L20C".
I need to repair driver seat. I asked to Porsche dealer which is the interior code (just the seat) but he just told me is "UR" code....
He also told me he has no idea how or where to find it. It looks like alcantara...
Can anyone help me?
I would also pay a few amount for more detailed info on my car.
vin is WPOZZZ91ZDS101182
Thanks in advance.

vin build information

you can go to your local Porsche dealer give him the vin number and he can print a build sheet for you. I would also call PCA and ask how to get more info from the factory on your EU car.

go to shop

Go to an upholstery shop in your area that does european cars and have them check to see if they have been recovered. If you brought it to me I would first ask how many miles are on your car. If you said 150k then I would think someone probally changed out the seats to cloth inserts somewhere in its life. If you said
35k then it might be some euro thing. In the states its rare to fing BMWs with cloth but in europe it is common.

Two options:

1) post on impactbumpers as the guys on there might know the option code or interior type.
2) get a certificate of authenticity from Porsche UK or try to get them to give you the interior details.

Looking in Patrick Paternie's Red Book there are five classes of covering

Vinyl
Leather
Checkerboard velour
Berber Tweed
Wavy Stitch Cloth

There is a brown in vinyl but surely it's just vinyl.

There is a champagne color in the leather class but from searching on Google, it's traditional leather. No fuzz.

The checkerboard velour has squares in it. Berber tweed is a rough texture and I can't find pics on wavy stitch cloth.

I am leaning towards the faces having been recovered.

I do have an online Google Book written by Peter Morgan but I can never get it to display properly. Always poor resolution. It has "codes" though. I can try later when home.

When Porsche used cloth material were not the bolsters always done in leather/vinyl?

No is correct. But I had to cheat.

The checkerboard cloth (assuming that's the psychedelic checkerboard) has the bolsters in vinyl/leather but not the berber. See below. Still cant find an example of the wavy stitch fabric.

Anyone have 80's "Berber" Cloth Seats ?

thanks for all yours posts.
Anyway I'm quite sure my interiors aren't properly "berber cloth".
They really close to (or they really are) alcantara fabric.

Nice looking car, please post some more pics.

Your interior is not Berber. Honestly I have never seen that Alcantra looking fabric before. What I think might have happened is that the seats have been re covered. For the SC there was a fabric called 'Cloth of Uniform Color. That has been NLA for quite some time however some specialist places have the beige and black. I know Sitzklinik has it CarTex | Sitzklinik - Manufaktur für Interieur | KFZ-Sitze, Innenausstattungen, Cabrioverdecke, Dachhimmel, Teppich-Polster-Auflagen, Federkerne, Original KFZ-Leder, KFZ-Stoff-Depot, Restauration für KFZ-Interieur und KFZ-Verdecke, Bezüge, Schubert but first I would talk to Tom at Werk924 Werk 924.com - Home
I also have been looking and researching my Euro cars original interior and found the two German shops above, and Southbound trimmers in the UK very helpful.

Why not get your COA to find out what was on the car when it was delivered. Here are some pics from the cloth interior books, and a pic of my interior as I found it and a tan version of the same. I think the tan fabric are re covers in non original versions of Cloth of a Uniform Color' because they both lack the herringbone pattern that you see in the fabric sheet.

Luckily my original owner kept every thing to do with the car so he even kept a sample of the original seat fabric. I got it from Werk924 and my sport seats are currently being recovered as the car was delivered with fabric fronts

When I wanted new vinyl I went to a car upholstery place and he pulled out a sample book of Porsche vinyls and there was mine for a 1979 SC. And I live in the boondocks, so any reasonable upholster should be able to do the same for you.

Hi all,
So I've been at the official Porsche dealer.
They confirm that interior code is .......... "UR" but they don't have any description of this code.
Too Strange to me
