911 valve cover gaskets

I just picked up my valve cover gaskets for my 80 SC after a valve adjustment. They are the beaded gaskets. I was told the bead goes "out" facing the valve cover. Is this correct. Thanks. Next is chain cover gaskets. then fire her up of a test run. Hope all goes well. She has been on jack stands since last fall. Took a little longer than I thought.

You can't put them on the wrong way. Bead out.

Bob....me thinks you assume too much.

If you just disregard the position of the holes and general shape of the gasket thean anything is possible.

Ronnie can explain it better as he probably has more experience with strange holes and fitting things in wierd places.
