Price Check: 911T 2.4 engine and trans

Hey gang, just picked up a complete 2.4 out of a 73 911T along with the matching 915 transmission. Its been sitting in a barn for years and I'm debating over whether to build this for an early hotrod, or flip it. I'm 99% sure it will need a rebuild. What are these engines/transmission going for these days as "cores"? I haven't seen any pop up for sale recently. Thanks!

Unknown condition 2.4 T and tranny $3-5K

I have one I'm keeping to sell my 73.5 as "numbers matching" when I'm too old to change my own diapers.

Just a guess, but about $3K....Mag case engines can have expensive issues. If it's CIS that has been sitting, more headaches.......Would be worth more if in a running car and a PPI was possible.

.The 915, maybe $900 to $1,500 depending on condition?

Like they said, mag case usually needs work. Is it a 7R case or earlier. If it has complete MFI it would bring up value, CIS not as much. If converted to carbs and no original intake things change again.
915 also, early had troublesome seal until later '73 with updated seal design that could be changed with out disassembly.
Does the engine rotate freely, any compression or leak down numbers, is magnesium corroding, etc. Pictures and a little more information would help.
Of course, if you find the owner of the original chassis, it would be worth more to him than other buyers.

Excellent, thank you gentlemen. Looks like its worth a bit more than I expected... I think it will probably end up in the FS section after I look into it in more detail.
