Tuff Luck

I was on my way to a car show and a fool bumped my 964 at a traffic light. When I pulled over he took off. He probably senced that I would be upset. The damage was slight, just the paint on the bum,per or so I thought.

Last week I took the bumper off to get it painted only to find that the center reflector was cracked and fell apart when I took it out. A new is $600 plus, anyone have one they want to sell..............

Here are some pictures of my solution

What did you use to replace the center piece?

Center section

I used a piece of 30 gauge aluminum . It is made out of two pieces of material and welded together. I did it this way because the part has a compound curve. I used a slip roller to put the curve in it and used the same mounting points. I also put a piece of rubber edging along top and bottom. I only plane on using it as a short term replacement while I look for a used reflector

The slope is not slippery; in fact it is entirely frictionless.

This RWB might give you some inspiration :-

To be fair and accurate, it's not my car (unfortunately). Might be suitable for some of the younger ones but as I get older I've opted to take it a little more sedately, hence my current drive is :-
