Simple injector extractor for K-jetronic
The fact
Since a month, my 911 Sc sounds like she was five. Verified sparks and cables and everyhing electric I made a simple test: lift the car and running the engine for three-four minutes, I went under and touched each cylinder. My third cylinder on the right was cold, so I concluded that something had to be wrong in the injector and decided to remove it to test (no one problem with ingnition in eight years, nor in the 5 previous K-jetronic equipped cars I had, so NEVER supposed need to remove the thing). Disconnecting the pipe I descovered that the injector isn't screwed but stays in site by pressure and a fat o-ring and there was no effort to convince it to go out from the tight. The fix This is the extractor I made and tested with the deepest inyector that come out in no-time. The materials are an hydraulic connector with the same screw of the inyector (11 mm), a 6 mm. bar and a short copper pipe right to allow the passage up and down in hi inside of all the other stuff: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1410499789.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1410499814.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1410499836.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1410499861.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1410499883.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1410499907.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1410499943.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1410499970.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1410499992.jpg Hoping the pictures will be clear and that it will help someone A special thank to my Porsche-friend Vincenzo Siecola who gave me some precious inputs from the opposite side of Italy |
Nice, but a bit too high tech for me. I leave the injector connected and put a small open-ended wrench around the base and lever it up. Works for me.

Very nice method! Allows smooth controlled extraction for really stubborn injectors.
Thanks for sharing! Great Pics. Cooper |
Gee , mine always just pull out by hand. Could be the spinach talking I guess ;)
But hat's off for the device |
yea, nice tool, but a 10 or 11mm open end wrench works, and if you have flexible fuel lines then bonus, you dont have to deal with fuel.
|
Obviously tried with every wrench I have
No one touched the injectors in the last eight years. I didn.t know before Anyway I strongly prefere that a stuff driving fuel in pressure will be tightly inserted The Sierra Cosworth of my daughter's late boyfriend burned like a crisp for a stupid little pipe spit outside his housing |
Great idea to get to that one deep in the back with so little room for sure.

You've been out of practice........

Ty, 10 or 11 mm open wrench won't work. You need a 12-mm open wrench or an injector puller like this: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1410554097.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1410554113.jpg I like to replace the rod with a heavy duty cable so I could pull the injector at an angle instead of straight upward direction. How's your 930? Tony |
The injector was blocked!
I still put in place it and the engine runs six, softly Next monday I'll overhaul the other five |
I've heard some guy get'em out with claw hammers:eek:
|
Will you try first, in your (74) 911S?
|
me no try... like your idea better.;)
