Advice from auto electrical gurus?
Guys, I have a rear bosch 044 fuel pump wired on its own circuit/relay.
Is it possible to run an electric oil scavenge pump off the same circuit in parallel, temporarily? Max current draw on the oil scavenge pump is 5A. I just need the oil scavenge pump going so I can drive the car to the auto electrician so he can wire the oil pump on its own circuit. Advice appreciated! |

I would bypass the fuel pump fuse with a separate in-line fuse so as not to overload the fuel pump fuse.

Temporarily Run an in line fuse for the pump off of one of the 3 rear fuses that normally feeds your defroster. Shouldn't need it anytime soon.

Thanks guys. I don't have a rear defroster. My car is a turbo cabriolet.
The electric scavenge pump is to pump the oil drain from two turbochargers back into the oil system. Is there a fuse and power source in the rear panel which gets power when the engine is running, so I can tap the power for the oil scavenge pump from that source? Or are those rear panel power sources manually activated? Last edited by 911TT33; 09-12-2014 at 08:56 PM.. |
