Yes. Not really necessary. Money is better spent on a high-capacity evaporator and a better evap blower.
That having been said, some folks seem to get some positive results. |

Hey Gerry!
When I re-did the A/C in my car, my mechanic specifically said I should get this. At the same time, I think I get better results from the "rheostat" fan switch, as well as the super duper blower motor on the evaporator (both from Kuehl).

I have one in my car. It definitely made a difference.
Be prepared for an onslaught of people saying it's snake oil. It worked for me, but YMMV.
