After 12 years, nose cooler gave it up.

Developed a leak.....so, having an oil leak front AND rear was too much. One day I'll tackle the rear seal leak....have to pull the lower pulley.

New cooler is a bigger than the old one. Going to contact Al Kosmal to make or supply material for a matching grill cover.....

Was that size oil cooler necessary or convenient? There are coolers that fit within the confines of an RS-type front bumper.

Since moving from a rural area to one that has bumper grid lock, I needed a little more capacity. I also moved it out so that it has better air circulation.

I picked up a BEHR oil cooler off a turbo Mercedes at the junk yard for something like $10 or $12 a year ago. Pick-Your-Part has them all the time. Looks like it was made for the RS bumpers. Someday I'll do something with it.

Doug,
Can you share the dimensions of the MB cooler?

Thanks,
Sherwood

Do an ebay search for "benz behr oil cooler" as there's a lot of benzes old and new that use long, narrow coolers.

Great info for future use.

Check the internal diameter of the inlet and outlet as well as The passages. The 911/930 oil system is large.

Sorry guys, been out driving the car.

My mic isn't metric so in...let's go with .580" (just a micron shy of 15mm) inside diameter. My handy little thread mic says just a smidge over .80" (20mm) diameter fittings..

Hope that helps.

From what I can tell all of the turbo merc's have them.
