Where did this piece come from?


I found this in the engine compartement, at the left hand side under the CD box.
I have no idea where it belongs?! Does anyone know what it is?

What are it's dimensions? Can you take another photo with a ruler/tape measure next to it? metric?

Oh, I see you are in Norway, so of course metric measurements.

Olley, I think it's just the pin that goes in the hinge for the engine lid. The hollow up near the end looks like where the circlip would go.

That makes sense! I had some thoughts about that, and I tried to see if there was something missing in the hinge mechanism, but I did not see anything strange. I will have another look!!

What year of a car?

Also, looking at the markings around the piece, king of band like, it does look like it could have been part of a hinge or something similar.
