Anyone know if there is and/or where I can find a rebuild manual for a G50/00?
I have some input shaft issues and I need to pull it apart to take a look. Thanks Brendon |

Have you ever done a transmission rebuild? A G50 is not impossible, but it's not a good tranny to learn on.
It's maybe 50% harder than a 915.

You could use the 993 factory Porsche manual as a guide if you're just taking it apart for inspection. The 993 6 spd is generally the same as the 5 spd. Generally same enough for partial disassembly. PM me and i'll give you a copy of the 993 manual via email.

PM sent, I basically need to pull the cases apart and see what I need for pullers in the manual. I am mainly interested in the bearings for the input shaft.
We have isolated my issue to the bellhousing trans area. slight rap @3k (Tensioners?) |

Sent you a PM back and linked/shared you to my Google Drive file hosting
For pulling gears you need a really long puller. A local friend built a few G50 gearboxes and the really long puller and a really long socket (basically a tube with a socket welded onto it) were needed to work on the G50

The puller is fairly easy to make, just longer bars for a FLAPS puller.
But the G50 is a challenge. I found the G50 info in a 911 manual, it was 1984-1989 I believe, so it had G50 and 915.

I found that the WKS 303 021 manual is pretty much impossible to find. It is actually the training booklet for the P30 certification for Porsche training. I really would like a copy too...

I will PM you my Email address. Not sure what my limit is.
Just checked my Bentley and it is NOT in there. Only covers 915. |

I have an '84-89 factory microfiche that has G50 repair info in it. It'll take me until next week to print it out on my work's microfiche machine and then scan it.

If you can do that, it would be very helpful. I am doing valve adjustment and full service on an SC that I bought this weekend and I might hold off on doing the G50 till after I get it back from Turbopalooza. I just hope it makes the trip.

My fiche for 84-89 Carrera, is dated June 1990, and has about 60 pages of service/tech info on the G50. If any of you guys want to take a look at it, I uploaded it to my google drive. Send me a PM with your email address and i'll put you on the share list.

I got everything guys. After some digging through all the drawings I think it's one of the 2 engine side bearings on the input shaft... I'll know for sure when I pull apart in a few weekends.
Thanks for everything!!! |

I am bringing this post back from the dead. I had someone Email me a link to their drop box and I lost the file with a hard drive failure.
