Do you have a pic of the original innards of the Dansk?
Beautiful car(s)!! Todd |
I have been contemplating building a muffler like yours. I will be very interested in how it works.
Maybe you could post some dyno numbers? What is the detail with the perforated sections? Is it two layers of perforated sheet one inside the other? |

I will take more pictures and post them soon. Cheers Mauricio |
As for exhaust, I've noticed most factory race engines do not mix the LHS and RHS exhaust at all. They treat the LHS and RHS as separate exhaust systems and they do not use any sort of X pipe. Search around on pelican and you'll find a few examples of these independent bank systems.

True most P-car race exhausts don't seem to use any sort of x-pipe, but this is not a race car, nor a race engine. It'll probably never see a race track since it is a family grand tourer/sleeper car. Because of this I tried to focus primarily on studying high-end aftermarket systems for street cars when I thought this out, and they almost always have some sort of X-pipe built into them. I guess high revving race engines do not need to balance both banks in low to mid range situations like street cars do. All street mufflers mix left and right flows in a chamber, but they do so in a way that slows down the flow and rely on pressure expansion to balance the backdraft and scavenging. Most high-end systems seem to first let both sides mix in a fast-flowing x system, and then use secondary mufflers to mitigate resonance and sound levels. What I wanted to do is to use both these ideas and somehow make them fit inside a banana-shaped OEM-type muffler. I'll have the results of my Frankenstein moment in a couple of days, when I test the muffler and re-calibrate the carbs. I still have no idea how it will affect the sound or performance, but I'm enthusiastic that it will yield good results. If it doesn't, then it's back to the drawing board. CHeers! Mauricio |
splendid

New Interior
Hello
I want to share my new redone interior, I sourced OEM Porsche wool Tartan from West Trading (Netherlands) and had them done by my guy. What do you think? The car currently is being fitted with a roll hoop so later this week I'll have them in and post pics of the finished car. Cheers Mauricio http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1433189637.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1433189664.jpg |
well done, the car is pristine, the new seats will compliment the car incredibly well!
I bet she scoots down the street pretty quickly!! i personally love the tartan plaid seats, so, again, bravo!! |
I'm actually quite interested in how it went with that muffler!? :)
