radio help required
I got this radio that was with a 74, 911.
Can anyone advise me on approximately what year this would be suitable? ![]() ![]()

Nice period-correct aftermarket unit. Usually see those in an SC. Do a search for CR-2001.

CR2001 was available early to mid 80's.

There is one on eBay just like it: 9405510200828330237899
Description says it's for a late 70s early 80s. I wouldn't worry too much about being exactly period correct if the radio works well. I found a Blaupunkt Frankfurt from a later period for a reasonable price and put it in my '73 911T. It sounds better than the new Panasonic that I replaced! But you have the added bonus of a cassette player. Tom |

I was planning to use it in my 71T, currently running an old alpine cassette that I've since early 70s.
I have added a rear shelf set of speakers and need a fader for front to back. It's not like I'm removing the original radio but would like it to look somewhat correct.

Unless you are trying for concours, the little push buttons and dial needle (or whatever they were called then (!)) seems close enough period-wise. The cassette drive probably takes it out of the era but, what the heck, if it plays well you are golden. At least it's not a Lear 8-Track!!
