Which Carpet Weave?
I'm a fairly new owner of an 87 Carrera. When I got the car, the drivers side interior carpet was missing. There is only a floor mat there. The rest of the carpet is in very good shape. I went onto PP to order the drivers side carpet, and it seems that there are a lot of different weaves and fabrics and manufacturers, and so I'm unsure of what to order. The car has the basic black interior. See photo. Is this silvernit? If not, what is it?
Thanks in advance. ![]() |

Yes that is Sliverknit. '87 911 came with Sliverknit plush carpet. It's called sliverknit (not silverknit) as that is the
textile term for the type of weave. If you can't find just a drivers side mat, you can buy the sliverknit textile by the yard from Pelican and have a trim shop fabricate it for you. Would probably be cheaper than finding a single mat factory made if you could find one. Porsche 911 (1974-1989) - Carpets & Floor Mats - Page 2
