Timing Chains split link

I would appriciate a few any advice or thoughts on the split link in the timing chains I am currently fitting.
The links are held in place by 2 separate but very small clips that seem to pop off very easily. They aren't at all like the single horse shoe style split link I see described in the manual.

Has anyone any previous experiance of these links - just to put my mind at rest.

Thanks
Richard
