Fuel line replacement

Thinking that I should replace the fuel line and fuel pressure line while I have the engine and tanny out of an 81sc. Spoke with a guy in Hersey who had done it with a genuine porsche line he bought from his local dealer, and the line broke within the week. Bad luck I am sure, but has the thirty years that have passed since the car was built produced a better aftermarket material/fuel line?
Thanks

Also consider BoxterGT. He is a member of the forum and makes perfect replacement tunnel lines. He uses Coline which is what the factory uses. I just had him do mine and they turned out perfect.

I really can't see how the factory lines would go bad unless it was installed improperly.
