Any Opinions regarding dying of seats?

My '74 interior is in good shape but the '74's seats are not comfortable. They look good but are bouncy and not firm. Every time I drive my 944, I instantly notice how much better the later '88 seats are.

So, I've been searching eBay, etc for a nice set of reasonably priced seats. It seems like the best seats I have found are always tan (which won't work in my silver 911).

I'm wondering if anyone has experience dying tan leather seats with good seats. I would want to dye then dark blue or possibly black.

Anyway.....I'm just wondering at this point.

I used Tana dye for my motorcycle seat (brown to black)...and it lasted for more than 25 years that way.
I did a touch-up once or twice during the years for the rub spots.
