Clutch Pedal Spring
Hi all,
Due to a faulty right arm, I am having a bit of trouble pulling the spring onto the post of the clutch pedal. Anyone have a secret trick for levering this on? My usual helpers are away at college. TIA Pat

I've used a small Phillips head or pic thru the end and slid it down.
It can be frustrating because of the confined space and a bum arm. Or, Pull your assistants out of college. Priorities! Matt

Removing the seats will give you more room as well.

With the spring out, slide a 1/8" thick spacer between each coil, tap them in with a hammer. This stretches the spring enough to allow the base end with the short loop to be put on over its post, place the pedal end on first, it has the longer length of looped wire.
You will need to pry each coil apart to insert the spacers, Orient them so they do not interfere and can be pulled out later! I happened to have a bunch of 1.5" dia washers around that I used. No need to remove seats.

Art, that is a great idea. I'll give it a try! My interior is gutted at the moment for RS carpet install, so I have all the room in the world.

I believe that is the correct orientation. It won't fit any other way, from what I can tell. It was a long time ago when I took it off...
