What are these wires under my passenger carpet?

Hi all....I've had my car about a month and a half now and just pulled up the passenger carpet and saw these wires.....but not sure what they're for. The small box seems to be the back of the defroster lever light assembly from the part # on it.

2 questions -
  • any idea what the other 2 would go to? There's a small amp bolted to the floorboard so i can't pull up the carpet further up under the dash. I'm getting that amp relocated as i don't like the location but until then....
  • where would the defroster lever light assembly be mounted?

Thanks in advance for any help.
Billy

The little square box pieces has a light that is supposed to go on when you have the heater lever pulled up (it is normally secured to the floor just in front of the heater lever). The small white connector looks like it's related to the seat belts. There is also a similar connector located at the base of the front seat belt recepticals. Not sure about the black connector but on some years (you haven't stated yours), there is a seatbelt lockout device that many people override as it prevents the car from starting if seatbelts are not connected. This device is know to cause stranding issues.

Thanks Vern....my car is a 1989 3.2 Carrera.

I'll have a look at the base of the connector and see if there's a matching connector.

If the other is a lockout, it sounds best to leave it disconnected anyway.

Thanks again for your help.
