Shedding bolts out of the door?
On the bottom of the left side door of my '74 coupe there appears to be a drain hole. From this hole, on two occasions now, bolts have fallen out when I opened the door.
Here they are: ![]() These are 8mm, 8.8 grade bolts that look very much like those holding random things together inside the door. However, everything still works, the windows go up and down, lock works, etc. They do not seem to show signs of actually having been used. So, what do I face here? I heard nothing rattling around in the door before these fell out, nor after.

It's pretty easy to drop parts when you are working inside the door panel. I would guess these parts are leftover from a previous maintenance, such as replacing a window regulator. Although they do kinda look like the ones that hold the window frame in on my car.
If nothing seems loose, I'd put the bolts aside and forget about it.

Funny I found one of these in the passenger door of my Cab, I have had window/door rattle and was hoping that something had come lose. When I took the panel off and started looking for missing bolts I could find nothing that was missing. It sure seems like it fell off something but I could not figure out where. Oh yeah still have the rattle in the door, sometimes....

Pulled this pic off a post just a few away from this one. Look like a target rich environment for those:
![]() Disclaimer: probably not a 74...

Look like the M8 bolts that retain the bottom of the window guide rail, they are specially short so they do not protrude into the area the window runs in. You have to look inside the door cavity to see them.
