911 R Tail Light Kit...??

Just browsing old posts and found a thread on 911 R tail lights and kits. I see that Pelican now offers the kit complete as a "new item" Has anyone installed this yet? How well does it fit? Any problems/advice with the install? Are the lights bright enough? Overall quality of the unit?

I'm due for a repaint in January and would love to upgrade (downgrade?) to this at that time.

I searched Google for the AR Concepts (the mfg.) for more details but could not find their web page...or the TRE web page either for that matter.

Thanks

I have it - the fit is great, and I only needed to do some light sanding and fill a couple small pinholes with glazing putty to the shells to get them ready for paint. I've done a bit of work with fiberglass parts to get them to fit, and these were by far the easiest.

When you get them, here's how to wire them up:

Someone was going to fabricate some lightweight, stock-looking (Not "R") rear taillight housing assemblies. Does anyone know anything about those?

I got mine from Dave at TRE and the fit was superb. No need to grind or add any material for a perfect fit.

There is some outfit out thre who sells these with LEDs now.

Juan,
Thanks for the tip. I am gonna contact TRE. I was hoping to go with LED's also instead of the Hella provided with the Pelican kit although I realize the Hella bulbs are brighter. I have read a few threads on LED's and there seems to be a good choice of bayonet base bulbs available so maybe one can fab that part himself.

Thanks, just wanted to know if perhaps they were standard bayonet fittings which would allow me to use LED bulbs. Will let you know what I find out.

Nice stable you have, BTW !! Like to see a pic of your SC.

I have the front units from TRE and the rear LED R lights form RW performance. Both have superb fit and finish. Highly recommend either source.
