Hans Mezger Passes
Don't know if this has been posted yet, didn't get any hits from a search but Hans Mezger, engineer designer of some of the most famous, popular and successful Porsche engines ever made, passed away last Wednesday.
A genius was in our midst for far too short of a time. LarryT 74 911 Last edited by l_turn9; 06-15-2020 at 01:42 PM.. Reason: spelling error |

An Engineering genius, indeed. His work will be remembered for years.
My condolences to his family. Mel |

I met him in 2018, at the Museum.
We were there for Sound Night, and when it was over were talking downstairs in the museum cafe. I noticed him on the table next to us, on his own.. Had a little chat, quizzed him if he by any chance remembred Grady Clay.. Which he didn't. I can imagine he having met many people and if at all he met Grady it would have been very briefly. Discussed some of the Porsches I had owned, and that I enjoy the Cayman 2.7 and how i felt it was very comparable to my 73S, in the fun department.. but that I do miss the rawness of the MFI.. all that in my broken german... In any case, he didn't look his age at all, and was very friendly.. RIP
